San Diego’s beer selection is as diverse as each of the neighborhood breweries that put their spin on classic and truly distinctive styles. The county’s breweries have brought back 45 medals from the Great American Beer Festival since 2014. The craft beer industry supports 6\,275 jobs in San Diego County and produced an economic impact of $1.1 billion in 2017. \nSouth of the border\, Baja California’s brewing scene continues to grow\, strategically positioning as a complement of the BajaMed culinary experience. In fact\, Baja breweries brought back 42 medals from Mexico’s national beer competition “Copa Cerveza MX” in 2018. Now home to 80 breweries\, Baja produces 18 percent of Mexico’s artisanal beer. This has opened the door to a new kind of partnership for Cali-Baja\, allowing San Diego breweries to open the first independent American brewery with a tasting room and full-time brewing operations in Mexico. \nOur upcoming Cross-Border Business Forum will give a taste of our binational region’s unique craft beer industry with a panel discussion featuring representatives from the tourism and craft beer industries that will answer key questions such as: \n\nHow are San Diego and Baja California working together to grow the craft beer industry on both sides of the border?\nWhat are the biggest challenges for local breweries?\nHow can breweries stay relevant in today’s market?\nAre brewery-to-brewery partnerships the best opportunity for craft beer entrepreneurs to expand across the border?\n\n\nAbout the Cross-Border Business Forums\n  \nThrough the Cross-Border Business Forums\, the Chamber provides business leaders the essential knowledge and resources needed to thrive within the binational marketplace. Attendees also have the opportunity to build and strengthen new relationships\, exchange ideas\, and debate policies that are relevant to the Cali-Baja business community. \nMeetings are held quarterly\, and alternate between the San Diego Regional Chamber office and Tijuana. \nRegistration is open to Chamber members and those considering membership. If you are not yet a Chamber member\, please contact Joshua Peters\, Membership Benefits Coordinator\, at jpeters@sdchamber.org or (619)544-1368\, to discuss membership opportunities or to register as a guest. \n\nFeatured Panelists:\n \n\n\nEvent Details\nDate: August 28th\, 2019\nTime: 10:00 – 11:30 am \nLocation:\nSan Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce\n402 W Broadway\, Suite 1000\nSan Diego\, CA\, 92101\nMap/Directions \nContact Details:\nKenia Zamarripa\nPhone: 619-544-1316\nEmail: kzamarripa@sdchamber.org \nRegister\n\n\n\n\n\nSponsors\n\n  \n  \n  \n URL:/event/cross-border-business-forum-12/ LOCATION:402 West Broadway\, Suite 1000\, San Diego\, 92101\, United States CATEGORIES:International,Networking,Policy ORGANIZER;CN="Kenia%20Zamarripa":MAILTO:kzamarripa@sdchamber.org END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20190828T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20190828T220000 DTSTAMP:20190916T143522 CREATED:20190812T234624Z LAST-MODIFIED:20190812T234624Z UID:28867-1567018800-1567029600@sdchamber.org SUMMARY:FREE Live Music: The Moneymen DESCRIPTION:Michael Head “Moneymen” is a good time southern California blues artist.
